It was two degrees in Chamonix but I had a mountain to run up. From the misty forest to the wind-swept open rocks at Plan du l’Aiguille and then, after a not-so-sneaky change in the middle of the cable car from sweaty running clothes to multiple warm layers, the iconic snowy peaks of l’Aiguille du Midi to gaze on the sublimity of Mont Blanc. For once, “epic” really does apply.
